6 Condensed Matter
Condensed matter physics is the phenomenon of macroscopic and microscopic physical properties of matter that emerge from the strong interactions of an extremely large number of constituents; for example, an atom or an electron.
Condensed matter physics is related to statistical mechanics and quantum mechanics because the macroscopic properties of a condensed system are independent of the detailed microscopic trajectories of each individual constituent.
